It's a Sweet Little Birdy Christmas...

Recently we held our Sweet Little Birdy Christmas Party and chose a red and dark pink colour palette, with a focus on candy stripes and little birdies ~ loved how it all come together, and we had a fun and fantastic day x

Delicious treats were displayed on a gorgeous bakers stand, while a tray on a stand housed plates and cups (and a few yummy treats) and drink dispensers sat atop stands also.

Guests enjoyed munching on sandwich fingers, bruschetta, vegetable platters and fruit salad, as well as christmas tree cupcakes, rocky road and royales biscuit 'puddings', mini strawberry puddings, scones, and lots of sweets x

So in love with the metal folding stand ~ so easy to fold up and carry, then looks amazing when folded out.   On the stand we had Christmas tree cupcakes, rocky road and royales mini 'puddings'.

Bruschetta was served in our candy cane range of bowls ~ I made this simple serving bowl by blu-tacking one of our lido bowls to one of our overturned candy cane bowls.  Holding the oil is a half circle dish ~ coming soon to SWEET LITTLE BIRDY

These yummy strawberry puddings in recycled jars looked so sweet with the spoons from our 'baby is brewing' favours.

No party would be complete at Sweet Little Birdy without the fantastic range of party ware from SAMBELLINA ~ we used the stripey range in pink and red, along with polka cups.  Also on the tray are our new candle holders (used as lolly holders) ~ coming soon

Our paper straws fit the candy stripe theme perfectly, and teamed perfectly with the Style Me Gorgeous printables...

Love, love, love our new stripey lolly bags ~ these contained 'old fashioned favourites' like milk bottles, grubs, icecream cones, honey bears, strawberries and creams and teeth ~ loved the touch of nostaglia these gave the party

A Sweet Christening for Lucia Rose

One of our gorgeous customers, Amalia, sent us some photos of this amazing candy table she set up for her little niece's Christening ~ and believe it or not this was her first one!

Amalia chose a pink and green colour palette (one of my favourites), which was carried over from the candle used at the church ~ the candle had pink and green ribbon, with tulle that had little pink and green handmade flowers on it.

How adorable is the cake x

Delicious lollies from Goody Goody Gum Drops

Our glass pedestal with dome and candy box jars from Sweet Little Birdy looked gorgeous filled with delicious delights and these grass mats from Mon Tresor look amazing!

Cookies from Cookie Couture ~ we've used these guys before and they are awesome!

Apart from the stunning candy table guests also enjoyed lots of other yummy things - the kids dined on sausages and mini bread rolls on a blanket on the grass in picnic style, and the adults were served oysters, prawns, roast beef and pork and a variety of salads.  YUM!!!

Then as if that didn't sound good enough for dessert there was raspberry cheesecake, orange and lemon poppyseed cake, apple torte, chocolate mudcake with fresh cream, a few greek sweets ~ baklava and galaktoboureko ~ all washed down with a good cup of tea and gingerbread cookies!

I don't think I will never grow old of seeing the gorgeous Sambellina pink spot paper cups on candy and dessert bars.

Amalia says her favorite thing about the party was watching both the adults and the children look at the table in disbelief.  She said the compliments and questions kept coming ~ is it any wonder when a candy table looks this good!  Great job Amalia and congratulations on your Christening Day Lucia Rose x

A sixth birthday vintage party

Remember the competition we ran to celebrate our website launch and also for reaching 1000 facebook fans?  Our winner was Kerrie from Tara K Designs with this gorgeous winning entry:

Its party time for the birthday girl, 'Turntable with buckets' we'll give it a whirl, We'll fill it with lollies and a sprinkling of cheer, For fond memories of another year!

And that's exactly what Kerrie did when she hosted a party for her adorable little girl's 6th birthday ~ she filled her pink turntable with buckets with lollies and created absolutely gorgeous fond memories for her daughter Tara to remember forever.

The theme for Tara's party was a Vintage inspired party in gorgeous pastel pinks, beige and white.  I fell in love with every detail of the party, created in one of my absolute favourite styles.

These gorgeous lollies cones are one of my favourite details ~ perfect

Kerrie's business, called Tara K Designs specialises in Vintage inspired children's clothing, accessories and bedroom decor and therefore she wanted to incorporate this into the theme ~ Kerrie adores lace, ribbons, pearls and bows so the theme was ideal.

As a special treat for birthday girl Tara and her friends, the party was also a hair clip making party.

(Here are the girls showing off their special creations in their hair)

Kerrie's favourite thing about the day was the sheer delight and smiles on the girls faces when they arrived and saw the party set-up. Secondly, the fun they had making the clips. She said that the time flew by so fast because everyone was having so much fun ~ and what fun it looked!!!

THE FOOD

The party food was designed in a variety of pinks and creams.

They had a gorgeous table of party food (sugar bliss) including white chocolate dipped marshmallow, sprinkled with fairy dust (a hit), popcorn served in the baking cups ( a bigger hit), lollies in the turntables with buckets, coconut marshmallow on sticks, iced vo vo's (a memory from Kerrie's childhood) and a selection of hot and cold food for the adults.  A special touch was the punch bowl with one of the girls telling her Mum 'there was grown up drink Mummy', how cute!!!

Kerrie's gorgeous friends Belinda and Erin made and iced the birthday cake and Kerrie decorated it in a Vintage theme using the most exquisite hair clip for the centrepiece.  This was supplied by Bliss Clips and is available from their Diamonds and Pearls range.

THE SHOUT OUTS

Bliss Clips supplied the gorgeous hair clip embellishments in a variety of colours - just beautiful

Vintage is Beautiful supplied Tara's gorgeous dress and Kerrie designed the matching vintage inspired belt and hair clip.

Tara K designs made the doily birthday banner, vintage bunting, pearl and lace pom poms, pop pom tree for the turntable with buckets and vintage inspired cornucopia lolly favours.

Another thank you from Kerrie goes out Mikala for assisting with the glue gun and Erin for crown control ~ i'm sure they did an amazing job by the looks of things.

Kerrie also wanted to thank Sweet Little Birdy for providing the turn table with buckets, polka dot baking cups and polka dot drinking cups.  Kerrie highly recommends the turntable from the oohs and aahs she witnessed as the girls turned the buckets to choose their sweets.  Kerrie ~ you are more than welcome, thank you for sharing Tara's exquisite party with us.
